Summary:

The story of Ruth: In a stunning retelling of the epic Old Testament story, Elana Eden portrays the beautiful Ruth, who, as a young girl, is sold to worshippers of the stone god Chemosh. As a young woman, however, she is moved by the plight of a Jewish slave named Mahlon (Tom Tryon), renounces her idolatry, frees Mahlon and befriends his mother, Naomi (Peggy Wood). When tragedy compels the women to make the arduous journey to Jerusalem, Ruth meets Boaz (Stuart Whitman) and falls in love. But as she is promised to another, she must rely on her courage, wits and newfound faith to find the peace she's longed for since she can remember. Both heartbreaking and compelling, The story of Ruth is a riveting film you won't soon forget!

The song of Bernadette: Jennifer Jones won the best actress Academy Award for her screen debut in this heartening film about a young girl with wondrous visions. The film also won Oscars in 1943 for cinematography (Black-and-white), music (score) and art direction (black-and-white). Bernadette Soubirous (Jones) is a sickly, 14-year-old girl who sees a vision of a "beautiful lady," and never suffers from her illness again. Moreover, a fountain suddenly materializes, close to where her vision appeared, that seems to heal visitors who bathe in it. Unspoiled by her apparent gift, Bernadette nonetheless suffers the prejudices of those around her in this extraordinary, inspiring film that also stars Vincent Price, Charles Bickford and Lee J. Cobb.

David and Bathsheba: Gregory Peck stars in this gripping retelling of the beloved Old Testament story. Although he has killed Goliath and prevailed in countless battles, there is one force that Israel's King David (Peck) cannot vanquish: love. Smitten with the beautiful Bathsheba (Susan Hayward), David sends her soldier husband, Uriah (Kieron Moore), into a hopeless battle, setting into motion his own downward spiral. Neglecting kingdom and faith, David incurs the wrath of God, the destruction of his country and the ill will of his people, who expect Bathsheba to pay the ultimate price for adultery.
