Gomer Pyle, the goofy local mechanic on "The Andy Griffith show" has left Mayberry to join the Marines. Stationed at Camp Henderson in California, his country bumpkin ways repeatedly get him into hot water with his hilariously short-fused superior, Sergeant Vince Carter, as he foils every attempt by Carter to keep him in line. But as much as Carter wants to dislike Pyle, they can't help but develop a special kinship.
